Define
your current situation in terms of how you want to be
prepared from a realistic standpoint. It is important to start
taking concrete steps as well as design a plan. A plan alone
will not be of much use if you have not acted on the plan to gather
the tools, water, food and other material your plan calls for.
Develop
and practice skills you have identified as essential
to your plan. When a specific skill is needed is not the time
to develop that skill. It takes constant practice to maintain
your survival skill sets.
Involve everyone in your family and group. Encourage your
neighbors to start preparing. In an emergency, if your
neighbors are not prepared, you may end up in a much weaker survival
situation.
Start with a 2 week plan that covers every aspect of your unique
situation, then establish your 3 month plan, a six month plan, and
finally a plan that will see you through an entire year.
Don't let this task overwhelm you.
If others have
worked and completed their plans, you can too. It's not magic.
Like any journey, its just a few steps every day.
